Bayou Country Superfest – Bayou Country Superfest On 2010 Memorial Day Weekend

If you are a country music fan and are within, say, 10,000 miles of Louisiana around 2010 Memorial Day weekend, then you need to get your tickets to the Bayou Country Superfest.

Here are just a few of the names that will be at the Bayou Country Superfest May 29-30, 2010 – Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, Brooks & Dunn, and Keith Urban.  Now that is a line-up that will satisfy even the most star-struck country music fan.  This along with the news that Kenny plans to begin scaling back his summer yours makes it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

This concert will take place in LSU’s Tiger Stadium and will be the first major concert played in that arena in its 85-year history although it did hold a Billy Graham crusade in 1970.  This is expected to be an annual event in the future.

Tickets will go on sale November 5 through Ticketmaster.  The goal is to bring tourism to Baton Rouge and this event will probably generate more than $20 million in revenue throughout the area.  “Golden HorseShoe” tickets will start at $250 a day and allow VIP standing-room only access at the front of the stage.

This concert series is much like the Stagecoach series started in Southern California in 2007.  They will enter their fourth year in 2010 and will have performers like Keith Urban, Sugarland, Toby Keith, and Brooks & Dunn.  More than 100,000 people attended Stagecoach in 2008.

Also, the Bamajam in Alabama is a growing country concert series and will likely compete more directly for the Bayou Country Superfest traffic.  Last June, in only its second year, Bamajam hosted more than 80,000 in a field in Enterprise, Alabama to hear Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, and Kid Rock.
